@BatWorldSanctuary? We’ve seen several bats around our home over the past few years, but I don’t notice the population growing. We’re way out in the country surrounded by woods & I was curious on your thoughts about bat houses. I want to encourage them to stay around and give them a safe place to go. How big of one would we need, what style & where’s the safest place to put one? Does it need to be somewhere shaded & is there anything we can do to let them know the bat house is there to inhabiit?
Gorgeous! I had a lump in my throat at the sight of this tiny thing rocking himself for comfort. Anyone who has ever gone “ewww, a bat” should watch this. I was lucky to be brought up to respect bats, even when they came down the chimney. No-one panicked…we caught them in a big coffee can with glass over it, took a look to see he was ok and released him. Bats are beneficial. So glad there are bat rescuers? working to help bats. L’il Drac is wonderful and congrats to Batworld for their care.
