Is there a baby product that you bought or were give that you never really used?
Myself: I have a ton of baby sleeping bags, they are like half shirts half blankets for sleep time. We didn’t really use them because she is 4 months old and likes to sleep in a onesie swaddled in a blanket.
To be honest, the Boppy pillow. I found it very awkward to use while nursing. It just fit funny on me. I’m sure it works great for some women, but not for me. I also never used the baby carrier or shopping cart cover
I never use undershirts! I have like 50 of them and have NEVER used one. As well as an expensive sling. Baby bjorn and blankets are our favourites.
Blankets are nice but personally i found that I didn’t swaddle or use that many different blankets.. you only need a couple! Other then that i loved the boppy! it was great for when they start to sit and do tummy time!
yea that stupid nappy bin thing! we used it a few times, then forgot to empty it! it was more hassle than putting a nappy in the bin!
The Boppy pillow. I’m right there with the other lady who said it never fit quite right. (My sister in law adored hers, though!) The sleeping bags you mentioned, too – thank goodness we only had one or two of them. I also have a carrier that I used about twice. I always felt like he was going to fall out of it!
I never used baby oil and I got tons of it. Also the powder..I used some if it looked like they were getting red, but I got huges bottles of it that are still unopened.
if she can roll you dont want to swaddle her anymore. you can use those blanket things up untill 9 months
the diaper genie , used it 2 weeks then stopped , to much hassel to empty just got a trash can with lid and scented bags,
diaper genie, boppy, wipe warmer,
i have 4 children and for the last we bought her a bumbo.we tried her out in it,but when she reached for things she would topple over with the seat still attached to her bottom!
xxxx
The sling! I see some women use it & they just look so great and comfortable with their baby snuggled inside. It just doesn’t work for me & it feels awkward. I ended up giving it to a new mom who absolutely loved it! At least someone was able to enjoy it.
my cousin gave me a crib musical toy to borrow that I never used…..I never used this blow up duck tub though for when baby gets older.. we just sit him in the big tub…we have no space for the duck tub.
I personally didn’t use the Bumbo seat. For one, my daughter’s legs were too chunky and I had to pretty much smash her into it. Plus she would always arch her back and try to get out of it. I thought we would love it, but we didn’t.
I agree with you on the sleeping gowns–they rode up on her and her feet would get cold, so we just used zippered pj’s. Also, shoes are cute but not functional until they start walking!
recieving balnkets, I know most love them, I never used them, my son wouldnt spit up right after eating it would be at random times, also someone gave me this stuffed lamb that you open up a put a hto water bottle in, apparntly they are a big hit in the UK, I think it’s suppose to keep the stroller warm or something if you place it in the seat, it was a thoughtful gift, but could never figure out quite how to use it.
I never used the lambs wool car seat pad because the nurses thought it might interfere with the saftey of the car seat. I also never used his sleeping sack pajama – it is still in the closet with the tag. I LOVE my boppy and couldn’t live/nurse without it! I also love my diaper genie, although I know most people don’t like theirs. I never really used the baby shoes I got. I think he’s cuter in socks or bare feet. I also don’t really care for my diaper bags. I think one of those recycled green cloth grocery bags works better and is bigger.
LOL. We have a few of those Sleep Sacks also that were never used. Also, receiving blankets (only used for the first couple weeks) and a Diaper Gene (NEVER used).
A crazy thing like a sling but where the baby laid in the bottom. It was awful. He hated it. He was all squished. So we bought some good slings and use them all the time.
The drying rack for bottles. I think i used it for the first few weeks and then it just sat there. Never again will i ask for one of those
I’d have to say the bottle drying rack I put on my registry. I don’t remember why, but when I saw it, it seemed like the coolest idea. All it was is a white tray with pegs that stick up, and you leave the bottles and pieces on it to dry after washing. I don’t know why I thought I could use that, a regular strainer fits that purpose perfectly fine, and I guess I didn’t realize ahead of time that I would be boiling my bottles so I didn’t need to let them sit and dry anyway. Plus, it was small and didn’t have enough room for everything to sit on it. It was one of those things that seems like a great idea at first, but the first time I used it I was like, what good is it? It was more of a hassle and not very reasonable.
The other thing was my diaper pail. I used it for awhile, but it kept falling apart, and a whole pail of dirty/wet diapers smells A LOT WORSE than just throwing them in the regular garbage with the regular household trash.
A baby carrier/sling
Shopping cart over, use it once or twice, I wouldn’t buy it again
Sleeping bags
Bottle sterlizer
Receiving blankets! We have millions (totally exagerating) and we never used them…the only way we use them is to cover and to cushion her changing table, incase of the occasional accident, lol. We also never use many of the baby washcloths, and we have a lot of them too. We rotate between the same 4, by that time we’ve already done the laundry and gotten the ones we used cleaned. I used my boppy pillow for some things but not as much as I thought, just to help Addy learn to sit up. My chihuahua enjoyed cuddling up in the center of it when the baby wasn’t using it, hehehe. You also don’t need a ton of different blankets, maybe 2 or 3 good ones.
EDIT: I love my bottle drying rack! We dont’ have a dishwasher (wait, yes we do, it’s me! Lol) so we have to put other dishes on the dish drainer thing…so the bottle rack is lovely, we use it everyday! I also like my diaper genie…we only put the stinky diapers in there and throw the pee diapers in a regular can…it works fabulosly.
Baby powder, Baby oil, disposable nighttime washclothes, and a lot of different newborn clothing that my son outgrew before he even wore them. Also, a special nail clipper with a maginifying glass on it. I found it much easier to use a regular small nail clipper. the maginifying glass distorted images, which would have made me clip my sons fingers way too short.
A sponge thingie for her to lie on in the baby bath. Completely useless – I just held her.
And a front carrying sling. She hated it and it killed my neck. (But once she could hold her head up, she LOVED the backpack – I used it until she was well past 2).
Edit: oh, I forgot the baby powder! I have two big pots of it, and the only time it’s ever been used is to powder the inside of a sticky plastic swimming cap! My daughter’s now nearly 13!
ummmmmmmmm we never really used the diaper genie thing (to put dirty daipers in) it STUNK!!!
the best was the Peke Moe sleep sack, to transition our baby from his swaddling.. it was great! :)
