Baby Tylenol!! I dunno what we would do without it for teething. The drops and tablets don’t really work for him, but Tylenol does wonders! Oh and his swing is AMAZING! He can entertain himself in it for hours!
diapers, and plaenty of threm!! kids are pooping machines…you’ll need buncches.
Diapers and rubber pants
butt paste!
ya CAN’T live without Grandma and Grandpa.
Diapers
WIPES!! You can never ever, ever, ever have enough wipes, I use them for everything!!
My second thing is a changing table at home and a changing pad for on the go, visit my website http://www.Izabug.com, check out our “oopsies and poopsies” its a great product!!!
Also, Mylacon, or infant gas relief, its all natural so you can give them it as often as they need for belly aches! =)
Good Luck!
in the early days it was his swing and then later on his jumperoo….how it’s hard to say because he’s 10 months tomorrow and has tons of toys and plays pretty well independently.
Desitin Diaper Rash Creme
(so your baby stays dry while he/she sleeps and won’t be chapped)
A bouncy chair — no joke!
Especially for those nights when you are needing a break and she / he doesn’t like their crib! lol. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but I will never have a baby without one!
Wipe Warmer……on a clean changing table, with lap pads over the changing table cover so that if they pee when your changing them, you just replace the lap pad instead of washing the whole cover.
Also this highchair I have that hooks to the diningroom table, but still has a full size seat and chair like a stand-up kind would….he can still sit at the table with us and I love it ($ 50 at Target)
for a newborn…..the swing!!!!! ANy Swing will work :) but mine went side to side and front and back.
Gripe water!!
My dr had told me to get it for colic purposes. And, being the paranoid mother that I am, I researched it thoroughly on the internet first! It worked wonders for my baby’s colicky symptoms. Then as he began teething, it helped soothe his gums. It is a multipurpose product that works wonderfully! I recommend it to all of my clients
(dad here) Baby wipes…unscented. They can be used for more then just keeping your baby’s face and other end clean.
I found the wipe warmer to be a waste of time and money.
Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. My son is 18 months old and I have used it on him his whole life. If his butt starts getting a little red I put on some butt paste and it’s better the next day.
The formula separator. At night I would fill it up with 2 or 3 oz in each one. Put bottles next to my bed with water in them. It made midnight feedings so much easier.
She slept in a co-sleeper so I put all her things in the night side table. Diapers, wipes, rash cream, the nose thing from the hospital, extra mittens and socks, thermometer, cotton balls and rubbing alcohol for the belly button, grocery bags for the dirty diapers to tie in a knot and put into a trash bag by the bed so you can throw it away in the morning.
Congrats and good luck
There were a few things that I just had to have for my kids
1) SWING- these are a lifesaver, trust me!
2)diapers but thats pretty obvious
3)on of those music boxes that also vibrates to put on the side of the bassinet and/or crib-They rock… and work soo soo well
Well, my main answer is my Boppy pillow but I’ll list some more that come pretty close to winning: mylicon drops and gripe water, diaper genie II, Arms Reach co-sleeper, wipe warmer, exersaucer, swaddling blankets, changing table.
I listed some common items because I know some moms say they never used them or didn’t need them. I use 99% of all my baby stuff and it all helps alot. I think the only thing I ended up not using was a lambswool carseat cozy pad thing because the nurses said it might impact the saftey of the carseat during an accident.
Bouncy swing! It’s the only thing that can keep her calm sometimes, and it keeps her happy and entertained while I do much needed “me” things… like showering!
